The paintings featured here are by Jeffrey (Red) George of Red Dog Art Studio, an Ojibway artist from Kettle & Stony Point First Nation in Southwestern Ontario, Canada. Jeffrey grew up with a love of art, drawing inspiration from Nature. "My work reflects my culture - its blessings along with its inner pains and suffering. My journey through life has led me to my Native Culture & Traditions and to the place where I am honoured to share my heart and soul through my artistic gift." Jeffrey's work is proudly displayed in many private and public galleries throughout North America.
The Sacred Peace Pipe came to the First Nation's people at a time of conflict in war. It was given to them through its spiritual person Wayaboozhoo who is half man and half spirit. He was placed on earth by the creator to help name all of the things in creation that grow.
Winter season is the time to rest, to enjoy the beauty and magic of the snowfall. The snow glistens and shines which brightens my days even when the days are dark & gloomy. I look forward to the snow as it looks so pretty. Beautiful Snowfall is the medicine for the Earth.
